Many people are choosing to take advantage of the spare space they have in their homes and aren’t using such as lofts and attics and converting them into a useful living space, having a conversion take place is not as messy a job as people think due to our tradesmen accessing the space via the outside of the house for most of the job meaning there is very little disruption to your day to day life.
A loft conversion can give your home an extra bedroom for an expanding family or to create a guest room, it can also give you extra living space if you have teenage children at home. A loft conversion could potentially add value to your home alongside giving you the opportunity to have a larger home without moving property.
An attic conversion is the cost effective way of expanding your home and can be most effective way when you have limited space especially in the larger cities such as London, in the larger cities space and property prices are at a premium so if you are looking to expand your home, an attic conversion is the most effective way of gaining the space that you require.
Loft conversions are permitted in homes without planning permission as long as your conversion does not include an expansion which is higher than the roof line and does not expand more than 40m³ in a terraced house or 50m³ in a semi detached or detached house. This is because you have a permitted development right which allows you to expand your house by a set percentage. Prices for loft conversions - Benefits of a loft conversion - Dormer conversions

There are three types of loft conversions which we carry out they are Velux conversions, Hip to Gable conversions and Dormer conversions. Velux Conversions do not alter the roof or space of your loft we would just add Velux windows to your loft. A Hip to Gable conversion includes changing your roof into a gable ended roof allowing you to choose from a Velux conversion or a Dormer conversion.
Dormer conversions include the extension of your loft adding extra space by extending your floor space with a dormer. A dormer is a window that projects onto a sloping roof when you choose a dormer conversion you can choose whether you would like a window or French doors. Dormer conversions are the most popular way to increase floor space and headroom in a loft conversion. Many local authority’s will not allow rear dormer conversions as a rear dormer conversion could result in you being able to see over your neighbours gardens however some local authority’s do prefer rear dormer conversions so as to not spoil the look of the street. When we carry out your conversion we will liaise with the local authority’s to ensure that the type of loft conversion you would like fits with their requirements and regulations.
There are many benefits of a loft conversion one being the creation of extra living space at a cost effective price. Other benefits of a loft conversion are a loft conversion can also add value to your property, many credible sources say that on average a loft conversion adds 20% value to your home making it a very beneficial investment. All three types of loft conversions that we carry out will give you extra living and could give you an increase in the value of your home.
